Program Overview
Green For All fights for a world that is green for all, not green for some. We work at the intersection of environmental, economic, and racial justice movements to advance solutions to poverty and pollution.
Purpose:
Green For All seeks an experienced Campaign Manager to add to our growing team. This person will work under the Campaign Director and with guidance from the Director of Policy to advance Green For All’s policy priorities, maintain strong working relationships with relevant agencies, policymakers, allies, and other key stakeholders, and build our political power and influence with key state legislators from both political parties.
Candidates should have federal or state campaign management experience, strong written and verbal communications skills, political savvy, working knowledge of environmental issues such as climate and clean energy, workforce development, and sustainable agriculture, along with a demonstrated commitment and passion for social and economic justice. Experience advancing legislation at the state level is highly preferred.
Responsibilities:
Campaign Management and Legislative Advocacy
- Work closely with the National Campaign Director, Director of Policy, and Communications team to develop state policy platforms and legislative agendas
- Coordinates our state legislative advocacy efforts in North Carolina
- Draft legislative proposals and support bill introduction and co-sponsorships
- Support drafting and submission of position letters and public comments to promote wealth and health through equitable investment and innovation in clean transportation, clean energy, and sustainable agriculture policies
- Assist with management of state lobbyists
- Manage and coordinate meetings and events with elected and appointed officials and their staff, including decision makers from both sides of the aisle
- Build and maintain exceptional professional relationships with policymakers, state agencies, partners and coalitions, including effectively engaging both liberal and conservative groups
Program Administration
- Contribute input and participate in strategic campaign planning
- Participate in weekly Green For All team meetings, bi-monthly Dream Corps all-staff meetings, quarterly and annual retreats, etc.
- Contribute towards a positive, productive, and collaborative working environment
- Maintain accurate records in databases and tracking systems, updated in a timely manner for effective information sharing in our remote culture
Requirements:
- Minimum 2-3 years of electoral or legislative advocacy campaign experience with a track record of success
- Excellent writing skills and a demonstrated ability to adapt wonky and complex policy language for external audiences
- Ability to execute campaign tactics and activities
- A strong demonstrated commitment to racial and economic justice is required
- Must have working knowledge of climate and clean energy or agricultural and workforce development policy issues
- Familiarity with the state policymaking process and political landscape
- Demonstrated ability to develop and leverage working relationships with key decision makers, partners and diverse stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize work effectively
- Experience working in driven and fast-paced teams, often working under pressure while maintaining congenial relationships and a high quality of work
- Willing to take initiative, exercise good judgment, and use diplomacy and discretion
Preferred Education/Skills/Experience:
- J.D. or MPP, or relevant advanced degree preferred, but not required
We are especially interested in candidates who have legislative experience working to advance federal or state policy, have strong written and verbal communications skills, and a passion for bridging divides and bringing people together around a common cause. Candidates who have been personally impacted by climate disruption, environmental racism, and/or economic oppression; or have spent significant time living and working in communities impacted by these issues are strongly encouraged to apply.
Travel
- Must be willing and able to travel occasionally, including for in-person staff meetings and retreats.
This position will be reviewed starting March 20th until a candidate is hired.
